28 Weeks Later

The Good
:
Brilliant, brilliant movie. Loved 28 Days Later (though was a bit pissed with the ridiculous ending until I found out later that the original ending was voted down after it's release in Britain for being "too much of a downer" and replaced with the crappier unbelievable ending we got in the States). This was an excellent sequel. Really made you follow the process of what would/could happen if this situation was real.

Great reuse of some of the sequences that reinforced the deja-vu feeling that this had all happened before. This film even reused a lot of the first film's music, which again added to the effect. Just amazingly well done. You're sitting there the whole movie and you buy into it all. Yes - Americans would totally be that stupid. These guys are our generations George Romero. These movies are a total allegory for what's going on politically in the world and it's great to watch whether you see that or just like the Rage Zombies.

I have always been a fan of Robert Carlyle, and this is no exception.

The Bad:
It left you wanting more, which may be the intent if there is to be a 28 Months or 28 Years later in the future.

Over All:
If you like Romero, see it. If you liked 28 Days, see it. If you like RC, see it. If you like zombies, see it. If you like none of these things, may god save your soul.

I wouldn't call it brilliant. The first ten minutes or so was amazing, it was a slow slide downhill from there. The characters began as interesting but became boring as the film progressed. And it was sooo predictable.

I enjoyed it, but it fell far short of the original.
